The century plant

Agave is given this name due to the mistaken belief that it only blooms once every 100 years. In reality, most species flower after 10 to 30 years.

This is Agave salmiana  or the Green Maguey/Pulque Agave.  A slow-growing easy  plant to grow indoors in a sunny window or sunroom, or outdoors!

  • Origin🎯: native to central and northern Mexico
  • Size🪴: 17cm pot; 30cm height.
  • Toxicity🐾: not safe for pets to eat

Plant Care Guide

  • Light🌞: bright sunny spot
  • Water💧: When soil is fully dry- about every 4-6 weeks or once per month full soaking of soil.
  • Temperature🌡️: Prefers warm temperatures 18°C to 24°C, can tolerate slightly cooler temperatures but should be kept away from drafts or cold windows.
  • Feeding🌱: Feed once a month into soil spring-summer
  • Grooming🫶: Remove dead leaves, no regular repotting unless roots coming out the bottom, remain relatively compact, making it a perfect long-term indoor companion.
